The story of a former slave’s prophecy that his descendants would one day rise above the manacles of slavery to the pinnacle of society. Solomon Chambers was born in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1940. His parents and his uncle moved to Michigan from Mississippi years earlier, hoping to avoid the racism of their home state. Solomon defies the odds of poverty and discrimination and eventually becomes a lawyer, and when his uncle is murdered in Mississippi he serves as a witness for the prosecution-- and has his first brush with the reality of racism. Solomon becomes an attorney, then senator, and the eventually becomes president of the United States of America in the year 2008.

The 14th Street Playhouse serves as a venue for this unique singing and dancing cabaret event. The cast and crew volunteer 100% of their time and talent. The event has raised more than $300,000 since 2002.

Motown Revue "Hitzville - The Show" is a journey through time with the music that made a city come alive. The show features hits made famous by Tina Turner, The temptations, Gladys Knight, The Supremes, The Four Tops and more.

The revue features a cast of talented, accomplished performers that include a trio of women, a quartet of men and the seven member Hitzville band. Jin Jin reeves stars in the show, but she is quick to give credit to her band some of the shows tremendous success. “I have the best band in the world…The guitar player comes from Stevie Wonder and the musical director from Gladys Knight and of course the drummer from Diana Ross!”

While working with internationally known artists such as Gladys Knight, Luis Miguel and Luther Vandross during her career, Jin Jin Reeves has made a name for herself performing on stages around the world, including her hometown of Detroit. Her greatest moment came in 2007 when she received a standing ovation from the Motown founder, Berry Gordy, and the legendary “King of Pop” himself, Michael Jackson.

"Follow the Yellow Brick Road" with the young performers of Curtains Up Inc. as they present the "The Wizard of Oz." This timeless classical musical follows Dorothy and her friends as they journey to the Wizard of Oz to make their dreams come true. Filled with classic Broadway tunes such as “Somewhere over the Rainbow” and “If I only had a Brain,” this fantastic production is perfect for the whole family and stars the children and teens of Curtains Up. Curtains Up is a non-profit premier performing arts studio for children whose mission it is to make a positive difference in the lives of Georgia’s children through the performing arts. “Wizard of Oz” is based on the OZ Chronicles by Frank L. Baum with Music and Lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg and is presented thanks to Tams-Witmark.
